Guild Information

The Eternal Knights of the Circle is an Ultima Online based Roleplaying guild. It was founded on June 11th, 1998 by a long list of dedicated members and under the leadership of King Talysman and Queen Rosamar.

The EKotC has a sister clan on the Realm which has the same goals but exists as a family only with almost no formal guild policies. That clan is called the Eternal Circle Clan and is also led by King Talysman and Queen Rosamar.

KNIGHTS CREED

All members of the Eternal Knights of the Circle must follow this code in everything they do.
Wherever you are in Britannia the reputation of our guild can either be enhanced
or tarnished by your actions. Please know that we will not tolerate abuse or bad
language. We are a good and helpful guild, and new players especially should be treated
with kindness. Anyone knowingly breaking our code will be dealt with accordingly.
Please show all that the Eternal Knights of the Circle is a guild worthy of respect and honour.

CHANNEL & CHANNEL PROTOCOL

The Eternal Knights of the Circle maintains an IRC channel. If you do not have mIRC, you can download the latest version of mIRC from ZDNet's Hotfiles. If you need help setting this up, contact Talysman (ICQ # 555685). Note that ICQ tends to eat up your internet resources and can cause significant lag in UO (especially on 28.8k modems), but mIRC causes almost no noticeable slowdown.

Please observe normal rules of netiquette and do not swear or use abusive language that could offend others.

GENERAL MEETINGS ON IRC

Saturdays 10pm GMT

Each week, we hold a General Meeting on IRC, so that all EKC members regardless of which game they play, or on which shard, can come together and raise issues directly with myself or the King.

In order for the meeting to proceed smoothly, and to ensure each member has a chance to speak without interruption, we do have a few rules.

1. Please allow the speaker to finish the topic.
2. When the speaker has finished - he/she will say: Any comments?
3. If you have a comment on that topic - please say AYE or raise hand. This does not give you the right to speak immediately - there may have been others before you. You must wait for the Speaker to call your name.
4. Do not interrupt anyone speaking.
5. When you have made your comments - please say *I have finished*. So that we can call the next member for their comments.

The AGENDA is usually along the following lines:

1. The King or Queen will have a number of topics to speak on.
2. They will complete each topic - and ask for comments.
3. The last topic will always be: Any Other Business. This is the time when members can raise their own questions.
4. If a member raises a question that is too complicated to deal with at the meeting, they will be asked to email either the King or Queen direct so that the subject can be dealt with more appropriately.

CIRCLE OF THE ROSE MAILING LIST

All members of the EKotC are allowed to join the Circle of the Rose mailing list. This is for general discussion, ideas for gaming and guild development. You do not have to participate in this discussion list - nor do you have to subscribe to it - but those who do post come up with alot of useful information and I recommend everyone subscribe to it.

If you wish to subscribe to it, please e-mail King Talysman with the e-mail address you wish to receive the discussion list at and you will be added ASAP.

IMPORTANT: If you do NOT wish to be on this list - please let Queen Rosamar know so that you are not left off important guild mailings.
